what a cutie when he's with Sally. his personality changed in a blink of an eye. he's such a sweetie and his feelings really showed in the book. he didn't say them aloud to Sally, but his thoughts about her were absolutely adorable. he said that he wanted to marry her?!

What? He's mental!! Those were not his real thoughts, he was just either drunk or in a really weird mood. I felt bad for Sally by the end. I sort of empathized with Holden when he wanted to go away with Sally but then I started to think, 'wow, think if you were sally. This isn't even a real date, and he's asking her to go away with him!!' Even though I love Holden's character, I really thought he was losing it during this scene...
